Students and their families at a rural Victorian school recently received the unexpected news that their school had in fact entered receivership, which overnight, meant that they were left with no solution or alternative to continuing their education.
A neighbouring school generously offered to accept what would be an extremely large influx of new students, however, their intentions were not supported with readily available facilities to properly accommodate the quantity of students they were set to receive.
Fortunately, Black Diamond was contacted by the school and tasked with rapidly increasing the capacity of their education facilities and working within their existing site configuration.
Black Diamond is proud to share that within one week, we had installed the required new modular classrooms onsite, fully certified and with comprehensive Building Act Compliance documentation provided.
The scope of works included Black Diamond’s proposal development, client review and approval, onsite teams /coordination and approximately 1,500km of travel from Brisbane to Victoria.
These are rare instances, but they’re the type of projects that as an organisation bring us some of our greatest satisfaction, particularly in the knowledge that we were able to mitigate disruption to these students’ education and provide relief to their families in an extremely timely manner.
This fact was further compounded by the knowledge that in recent times the pandemic had created a difficult learning environment for many schools across the nation and further disruption was the last thing that educators and families needed.
